My story

Courtesy post:  Please call Johanna at (516)405-0065

Age:5

Breed: Pit mix

KJ is not an AAHA Rescue dog. We are just posting as a courtesy for Lend-a-Paw Rescue . To find out more information and/or meet him you can contact Johanna at (516)405-0065.

They saved KJ from shelter in the south but his foster just had an accident and is no longer able to care for him. He is currently located in Dundalk but rescue is based in NY. They are urgently looking for a new foster home

"KJ is our beautiful 5 year old hunk of burning love. KJ was surrendered to a high kill shelter when his owner became homeless, and he was facing euthanasia. KJ’s advocates fell in love with him and asked us to save him, so we did. KJ would benefit from a companion female dog his size or being the only pet and he bonds with his human almost immediately. House broken, affectionate and intelligent, KJ would love a home with a yard to run around and play in. Won’t you please give KJ the home he has always deserved? Please?
I can provide all medical, he is neutered and up to date. Not good with cats or male dogs but good with female dogs. I really need help with him. If there are any other resources you can point me to, that would be great."
Can anyone help Lend-a-Paw Rescue? Please call Johanna at (516)405-0065.
The rescue will screen adopters since this is not an AAHA dog.

Disclaimer: AAHA provides complimentary listings for members of the community who wish to rehome their pet, as well as for other shelters/ rescues to assist them in finding Furever homes. Courtesy posted pets are not affiliated with AAHA rescue. Unfortunately, there is not enough space or resources to admit every animal to our rescue that needs a furever home. But, we still want to help those in need along their journey! By courtesy posting, we are offering our website/network as an additional outlet to help an owner or rescue gain additional exposure for the animal they are trying to place. AAHA can make no representation about courtesy posted pets including the health or suitability for adoption and accepts no liability in this exchange. Arrangements for adoptions are made between the Caretaker of the pet and the potential Adopter.

Additional adoption info

An approved application, vet reference, personal reference check and home visit are required to finalize an adoption. We suggest a $200 donation that helps offset some of our expenses such as feeding, boarding, training, vaccinations, spay/neuter, and miscellaneous veterinary costs.

Go meet their pets

We are a rescue that is dependent on volunteers as we do not have a physical building. We rent space at a kennel in Upperco, Md. If you would like to meet one of our dogs please contact us to make arrangements. Thanks!

More about this rescue

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form.

We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:
•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.
•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.
•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.
•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Please help us help the animals!
