Baby Girl - A very loving and sweet Husky/Shepherd mix that's believed to be approx. 7 years old. She came to us extremely overweight and Lyme positive. She has been treated for Lyme disease however one of our staff noticed she just wasn't walking right and with each day it seemed to get worse. Upon further examination at the vet it was found that Baby Girl has hip dysplasia on her left side, arthritis AND bilateral torn ACL's on back legs. POOR GIRL RIGHT?! We aren't prepared to give up on her. She deserves to live her life in a loving home and we will do everything possible to make that happen pain free. Before the vet can do surgery, she must lose weight. We need a dedicated person to help with this. No treats, no table scraps, no running outside and chasing the balls. She has started pain meds and supplements for the arthritis and once her vet is comfortable with her weight loss we can plan her first ACL surgery. We will see how it goes after the first surgery and evaluate what happens next. If you can offer her a comfy place for a short period of time or if you would like to foster-to-adopt, please fill out the paperwork today. Baby Girl gets along well with other dogs but we do not know how she is with cats.
