**HUNTER IS BEING HOMED IN THE DES MOINES, IA METRO....FREE TRANSPORT ASSISTANCE IS AVAILABLE TO ANY APPROVED APPLICANT!**


This sweet tiny boy is Hunter. He was found around Christmas time here in IA wandering around out in the cold. A sweet Samaritan picked him up and took him to a local shelter and later 7 days of no owner coming for him they contacted us at rescue and here Hunter is looking for a home to call his very own. He is what we endearingly call a Bagel, you know Half Beagle Half Basset, the best of both breeds and we think it just makes him that much more adorable. He is arpox 12-14 weeks old and a small stature little guy. He is ALL PUPPY...and loves to romp and roll with his foster hound brother Sampson. We would love for him to go to a home with another dog to help his transition into another home. He is getting the house training thing quite well but of course in any new home a diligent understanding schedule will need to enforced to continue his training. Hunter is UTD on age appropriate vaccinations, de-wormed and altered. For more information about Hunter please contact Karin at

Please remember Every animal for adoption through an Hounds Haven is fully vetted for their age and only needs routine preventive care. Dogs older then 6 months of age are heartworm tested! All dogs are kept on heartworm preventative. Every hound is vaccinated (age appropriate), and de-wormed, in addition to being spayed/neutered.



We are asking for interested parties to fill out a pre-adoption questionnaire prior to us lining up an appointment for them to see the hound(s) at the hound(s)' home.
