My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FOSTERED IN: Schererville, IN 46375
ESTIMATED DOB: August 2020
COLOR/BREED: Brown Tabby Shorthair
KIDS: Possibly
DOGS: Unlikely
CATS: Yes

HISTORY:
Jailyn was brought into a local shelter with her litter of kittens. Jailyn was a wonderful mom in the shelter, and that is not easy in a stressful environment. All of her kittens were adopted, and she was overlooked for over many months when we decided to bring her into our program.

ABOUT:
Jailyn is an incredibly low maintenance cat who would be an excellent companion for someone who works outside of the home and is afraid to leave their pet during the day. Jailyn has few demands and is happy to spend time by herself in the cat tree looking out the window. She also enjoys playing with toys she can bat around by herself. Jailyn although you could consider her a loaner most of the day, she can be very affectionate. She will rub all over you and ask for attention. She goes into zoomies and playful mode early in the morning and later at night.

She is an affectionate, low-maintenance cat that would adapt well to a more laid-back household. She will be happy to see you when you are home, but won’t be upset on the days you have to work long hours. Don’t get us wrong - she won’t be upset if you work from home, she just likes to spend a good part of the day doing what she likes, so you probably don’t have to worry about her meowing at the door while you are in your work meetings.

Jailyn has previously been fostered at our adoption center and is in a foster home with a resident cat at this time. She does well with other cats but was adopted and returned because the resident cat bullied her. She is now a little cautious meeting new cats until she is sure they don’t want to bother her. Jailyn will do equally well as an only cat or in a home with cats who won’t pick on her. We don’t know how Jailyn would do with dogs but her foster home feels they would likely make her uncomfortable, especially larger dogs. Jailyn would likely prefer a home with less commotion and excitement, and likes to spend a good amount of time by herself looking out the window, so she might not be the ideal choice for a home with children.
