My story

Meet Bissell! This sweet goofy girl wants nothing more than to sit as close as possible to you and be your best friend. Bissell's favorite things to do are cuddling up with you for a good cuddle session, and occasionally getting the zoomies. When you first meet Bissell she can be shy but once she warms up to you she is sure to be your new best friend. Bissell is dog friendly and would love a home with a sibling, but would do just as well as an only fur baby. If you are looking for a silly canine companion to keep you on your toes Bissell could be the one for you!

Bissell has tested positive for heartworms. HSEC gives heartworm-positive dogs a course of antibiotics and steroids. They then receive monthly heartworm prevention, as any dog should. We recommend speaking to your veterinarian before adopting a heartworm-positive dog.

More about this rescue

The Humane Society of Eastern Carolina's mission is to serve as a safe haven for homeless and neglected pets and act as a resource to the community. By educating the public about issues pertaining to animals, we feel that we can work towards the elimination of over breeding of dogs and cats and teach owners to be responsible pet owners. At the same time, we hope to facilitate adoption of pets to good homes so that we can allow more unwanted animals to find a temporary home with us.
