My story

Hello new friends! My name is Dwight. I am a lab mix doggo with a perma-puppy face and a delightfully squishy body. I may not be able to provide a pedigree but I can promise that I am 100% good boi!I am such a good pupper but living here in the shelter is very hard for me. You see, I came to Anderson all the way from Oklahoma to find a home and that was very scary! When I came to Anderson, it was discovered that I was heartworm positive. Don't worry! My pals here at Anderson have started my treatment and will continue to help me on my road to recovery, even after I'm adopted. I'm so glad that I am getting help but it does mean more scary visits to the doctor's office!I would love to finally find my furever family! Because I'm a nervous boy and will be needing to stay quiet while I work on my heartworm treatments, I would do best in an adult-only home.I would prefer to be the only dog in my home, I can be a bit choosy about play partners. If you do have another dog my friends here at Anderson can facilitate a meet and greet to determine if they meet my standards. If you think that maybe I could be the doggo for you then email my friends at info@ahconnects.org. Be sure to include your name and phone number in the email so they can reach you quickly!Paws and Kisses, DwightOur dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (6 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
