Meet the Pet
Macy was surrendered to a local shelter in emaciated condition, obviously a victim of neglect. She has since has been checked out by a vet and has no underlying health conditions that would account for her condition. Macy is now getting the care she needs, lots of good food and attention. She is a sweet girl, very active and loves attention. She also seems to be very smart and will benefit from some training to help her with her confidence and build positive behaviors. Because she was deprived of food, she does struggle some with resource guarding - she can sometimes be a bit growl-y when things (food and toys) are taken away from her. Her foster family is working with her on this and she has improved a lot but will need a family that is patient with her as she continues to learn that she will never go without food again. Even with that, she may always struggle and should be feed separately from other animals. She is good with dogs, but does need to work on her social skills some, so would do best with another confident, friendly dog to show her the way. She is also good with cats. We do not know how she is with children but, given her history and high energy level, she will need to go into a home without children. Macy does not like to be crated, but is doing well with her house-training. She loves to be outside, playing with her toys or just running off some energy so will need a home with a fenced yard. Macy is current on all her shots, micro-chipped and spayed.
