My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Skipper! He arrived to Northwest Indiana from our rescue partner in Oklahoma.

He is a calm and mellow guy. He went to the dunes and the park on a doggy day out with a volunteer. She said he lays right down in the car, easy passenger. Absolutely wonderful dog. She said anyone that spends a couple of hours with him will not want to ever let him go! Good manners, happy, kind of a goof, settled in to everything new quickly.

When greeting someone he doesn't jump. Does well with children and other dogs. He has been in a house with cats and did fine. He doesn't knock things off tables or reach up paws on counter tops.
He walks well on a leash, loves to cuddle and give kisses.
He plays well with other dogs.

He is a big teddy bear. Gorgeous coat and curly tail

He would be a great family dog!

Here is a video of him playing: https://youtu.be/B8q17GQxrDg

Here is a video of him running outside solo to give you a better look of him: https://youtu.be/d2J8RDF7jMM

Basics: He is guessed to be around 2 years old, weighs 65lbs, is neutered and up to date on vaccines, rabies, flea and heartworm prevention.

Adoption Process:
- Please fill out our adoption application: https://www.dayofthedogs.org/adoption-application
- One of our team members will get back to you via phone.
- Our dogs can be seen by appointment only. We do not have a facility at this time. Dogs are in foster homes or boarding
- Adoption fee helps to cover transport costs, spay/neuter, initial vaccines, rabies, fecal, initial worming, and microchip.
-We do not place holds on our dogs. Please do not contact us until you are prepared to adopt.
NOTE: We are very good about updating the pet's profiles once adopted. So no need to write us to ask "Is he/she still available?" If the post is up, the dog is still available.

About Us:
Day of the Dogs is a 501c3 nonprofit that is dedicated to helping shelters increase live release. We coordinate 2 - 4 transports per month from TX, OK and AR to NW Indiana/Chicagoland area. We do direct adoptions ourselves out of Dyer, IN area and partner with 12 other rescues and shelters in both IL and IN that are willing to help southern pets in need.
We rely on donations to help fund our ongoing transports. Please donate if you can. Every dollar adds up and we are grateful for any help we can get: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/DayoftheDogs
