My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dexter ❤😻 est DOB 8/2021
Dexter had a hard beginning to his life and is the only surviving member of his family. He started out shy and scared, but with love and patience has blossomed into the cat he was meant to be…an absolute SWEETHEART!

One of the things about Dexter that stands out the most is his purr. When he becomes happy he will start purring one of the most beautiful purrs ever heard. Just hearing it makes you feel happier instantly.

Dex enjoys running around and playing with toys and will leap high into the air while playing. He loves to play and wrestle with his foster cat sister. Dexter also loves to sit on laps and cuddle on the couch. He also enjoys being carried around the house.

Dexter’s foster family has four kids, three cats and two big dogs. He has been doing great and is learning how to fit into life in a active household. As of now (but we are still learning and improving daily), Dexter prefers not to mingle with strangers and can be shy around people he does not know. Once you gain his trust, Dex loves attention and will follow you around.

Dexter is looking for a home that is not super active where he will have a kitty friend to play with and humans to cuddle with. He will need a patient owner who understands he needs time to warm up to his new surroundings. Once he does, he will be a loving companion and well worth the effort.

Fixed, vaccinated, microchiped, deworm treatments and flea treatments.

You will need to fill out an adoption application, either in person or online, phone interview and, upon approval, agree to the terms

The terms are fairly simple, we require the following assurances:
• That the entire family is in agreement about bringing a pet into their home, and that it will be an indoor only (unless otherwise discussed with us) family pet.
• That the adoptive family will not surgically declaw their new cat. While fairly common thirty years ago, there is a great deal of new evidence that declawing can be both physically and emotionally harmful to cats over time.
• That the adoptive family is allowed to have pets where they currently live. If you are a renter, a letter from your landlord or apartment manager simplifies the process, but is not required as we can contact them ourselves if necessary.
• That potential adopters have not misrepresented themselves, their family, current and/or previous pets, or dwelling in an effort to facilitate the adoption process. We reserve the right to take a cat back into our care should we find this to be the case.
