My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Breed: Siberian Husky/ Adoption fee is $150 / Sex: Spayed Female / Age: 3-4 yrs / Weight: 65 pounds

Rosie will do wonderful in with a family looking for a dog to add to their family that enjoys a lovable and talkative dog and gets the quirks of a husky and can respect her preferences for slow introductions with other dogs.

House Manners: Rosie has doggie door access at her foster home, she has only had an accident when the door was not accessible. She is crate trained and sleeps in a kennel overnight due to the kitties that roam her foster home. She is also in a secure yard or in a kennel when unsupervised.

Basic Training: Knows Sit, Down, Off, Settle. Kennel, Wait, Leave it, Loose leash walking, yes and No (ahh ahh), Crate trained, Housetrained with routine.

Other Dogs: Rosie is in a foster home with dogs from 40-90 lbs. She plays with the playful ones and respects the grouchy older ones. She can be leash reactive to new dogs and does better with a slow proper into to other dogs.

Cats: Rosie is in a foster home with 4 cats but she is not trusted with them unsupervised. She respects a cat face to face but wants to chase when they walk/run away. She has sniffed and interacted with the cats without harm. She is a little too interested in cats to safely suggest a home with cats, but with proper management, like her foster does, having her in a home with a cat is doable with work, but not without risk.

Kids: Rosie has no known history with kids. I suspect she will be fine with older kids 7 yrs. and older. But would use caution around younger kids as it is simply unknown at this point. Overall, she is a sweet girl, but with any larger dog caution should be used around children, especially if toys or food are involved.

Fencing: Rosie has been respectful of a 5ft chain-link fence, and 6 foot kennel panels. She has been found stray 2-3 times in the past that left her in the shelter.

Known History: Rosie is a sweet girl that has a unfortunate trail of ending up with people who can't handle the breed. Aside from being a husky she also prefers to have slow introductions to other dogs or sometimes she will growl and snap at hyper dogs that charge up on her. Rosie isn't dog aggressive she hangs out with several other large to medium dogs in her foster home. Rosie enjoys running playing and wrestling with other dogs. Rosie has visited the local dog parks and done well also as she has improved greatly with proper dog to dog introductions. As a part of Rosie's training she was trained to wear a basket muzzle and she wore that when at the dog park. Out of the dozens of dogs there she only reacted to a feisty Jack Russel that was leaping to her face, others dogs she didn't like she would avoid.

The adoption fee is $150.This dog has had its age-appropriate Vaccinations brought up to date with Rabies shot (4 m & older), heartworm tested (4 m & older) and/or started on prevention, basic dewormer, spayed or neutered and microchipped by 24Petwatch with free registration , and also comes with 30 days of free 24Petwatch Pet Insurance .

Important PLEASE read if interested in adoption:

We have a pretty open adoption policy, apartments, unfenced yards, and young kids are okay, but only if the pet you are interested in is a good fit for that situation!!! Some dogs may require a fence of a certain type and height, due to safety, the breed or known history. We are looking for pet parents that provide vet care such as routine vaccines for their pets and heartworm prevention for dogs. Please understand we do cross check vet references and landowners/landlord policies and cannot process applications with incomplete or incorrect information.

We asked that you take your newly adopted dog for a vet exam in the first 30 days to establish with your vet and obtain their heartworm prevention prescriptions and have a fecal exam administered as some pets may need additional de-womers after leaving our care.

Please submit a  Pre-Adoption Questionnaire by clicking the hyperlink if visible or visiting  Our Home Page to the application link  to show your interest in adoption. Only submit one app for any of our dogs, your app will be on file for at least 1 year. This questionnaire simply helps inform us if the dog you are interested in might match your families' dynamics based on what we have learned about that dog. All of our pets at True Friends Animal Rescue are featured on Our Home Page and can be accessed from our web listings, take a look as there may be more than one in our rescue that you like. if you don't find the information you are needing thru our websites, please submit an E-mail.
