My story

*Update from Jacks foster mommy*

Are you ready to meet your new best friend? Meet Jack, a sweet, loving rat terrier mix who never wants to leave his person’s side!

He is currently being fostered in a home with a large 6 month old puppy, a toddler, and a young child. He does well with all, but he loves his mommy best of all! He is learning how to play with the puppy and chew on toys, but he would be happy in a house with or without another dog. And he definitely prefers females!

It sometimes takes him a while to warm up, but once he does, he is a total cuddle bug.

He wasn’t house trained prior to fostering, so we’re still working on that! Other than that, he is absolutely perfect!

Jack has never had anything in his life close to a loving home. He was one of 11 dogs kept outside in one general fenced yard. Food was thrown in and water offer was what was caught in a bowl when it rained...and that was if it was turned right side up.

This has made him suspisious of human attention. He is learning the kindness of human hands.

Jack will need someone who will understand his past an allow him to make the moves as he becomes more comfortable.

The reward for both Jack and you will be the formation of the closest bond ever.

More about this rescue

Russell Rescue is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) dog rescue organization. It was started in 2008 by Mary Ruth Rogers of Columbia, TN. Our mission is to save and re-home unloved, abandoned and abused dogs, especially the Jack Russell terrier. Most of our dogs come from high kill shelters in Tennessee, and other nearby states.
