My story

Sunshine is 2 years old, 60 pounds, current on vaccines, spayed, crate trained and is WONDERFUL with house training. No accidents in house or kennel with regular potty breaks. She has not been tested with kids. She would be great with kids, but older kids. She is very high energy and would easily knock over young ones. No cats or other small animals, she has a higher prey drive. Fine with other dogs but she wants to play rough so medium or large dogs who are submissive to her would be ideal. She is getting better on leash, pulls a bit but is a lot better than when she first came and we are continuing to work on this.

If interested in adopting Sunshine please fill out an application at operationsaveashelterdog.org. Adoption fee is $250.

Additional adoption info

We dedicate ourselves to ensuring that it is a good fit for adopters and dogs.

Go meet their pets

Our adoptable dogs are all in various foster homes and can be met by contacting rescue. Rescue will then provide foster home's contact information. Meet and greets will be arranged between foster and potential adopters. We also have adoption events at Petsmart on various dates which can be checked on our Facebook page, Operation Save a Shelter Dog.

More about this rescue

Our Mission Operation Save A Shelter Dog is a foster based, IRS-recognized 501c(3) rescue whose mission is to work with shelters on the East Coast by saving dogs at high risk of euthanasia or that have little hope of adoption in their current condition. Not only is it our goal to find furever homes for our dogs, but also to educate the public on the importance of spaying, neutering, vaccinating and providing preventative care for their pets.
