Sweet Pea had a rough start in life and by 4 months old she and her brother had passed from a rescue, to a home and family, to being left outside at a barn. She was very timid and fearful living at the barn with her brother. They came into Good Karma after her brother was attacked by a large cat! After she was spayed, she developed a very high fever and had to be rushed to the vet where she stayed until the fever came down. Since then she has continued to have some medical issues. Sweet Pea has asthma like problems and uses an inhaler twice daily. She doesn't like using her inhaler, but who does?
Sweet Pea has always been on the shy, timid side. She does hide when uncomfortable. Once she's comfortable with you, she will jump up on the bed or sofa and ask for pets. She loves being petted! Then the biscuit making begins.
Sweet Pea will do best in a house with another cat about her age. She feels comfortable with one of my personal cats, and likes to hang out with her. She is an incredibly sweet cat who will need a very special person willing to keep up with her medication, and give her lots of love and pets.
Adoption fee for this cat includes FVRCP vaccine, FIV/FELV testing, spay/neuter surgery, deworming, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate) wellness vet visit, one month of pet insurance and microchip. All animals are examined by a veterinarian. If we feel you are a good fit for the animal you would like to adopt based upon your application, we will want to do a home visit and have you meet the pet. If everything checks out, we will ask that you sign an adoption contract and pay a donation - usually $75 for cats and $150 for dogs. This includes all vetting, spay/neuter, vaccines, etc.
Our contract allows us to come visit you and your new family member after the adoption to make sure everything is going well and your new pet is happy & healthy.

Good Karma Pet Rescue is a small network of foster homes in South Florida dedicated to providing dogs and cats in need with the love and help they need and deserve.
GK was started in 2011 by Stacey Chen, who decided that she could best provide for her foster animals by starting a rescue that aims for best care rather than high volume. We intend to stay as small as we need to be to ensure that every one of our foster animals is treated with the same care and respect we show our own furry family.
