Meet Adira.
Adira is a super sweet and very fun 2 year old female German Shepherd mix who is 65 lbs. She is a perfect age and size for finding her new home ! As she is only 2 years of age, we want to ensure her adopter is committed to an active lifestyle for her. She wouldn’t be suited as a couch potato at this age.
Adira has been super fortunate and found herself with an amazing foster home and trainer. Evergreen School for dogs stepped up and she is thriving in their care. A trainer there has updated us and said that Adira is doing great with them. She is so sweet and great in the crate. She comes when called and loves to just hang out.
Adira would do well as an only dog or she might enjoy a home with another adult male dog or two.
We usually prefer to pair up female Shepherds into homes without other female dogs. Adira has not lived with children, and we want to match her background to her new home, so we would like to see her in a home with adults only.
While at the dog school, in just a few days - she was playing with all the resident dogs, even the snarky female (brown dog in video). We are beyond thrilled with her progress! Another play video: https://youtu.be/51qsDKVjZHM
From her foster home: "Adira is taking long walks and HIKES! She's amazing and the trainer / fosters are loving having her. Her foster said: Adira is now better than even my personal dogs at passing people and other dogs, and has shown great play skills with three new females; a frenchie, shih poo, and husky! Wyatt is her bestie, so she should be able to go to almost any home now as long as they’re worthy!"
A large fenced yard would be wonderful, but we think apartment or condo living is OK too - Adira would just need daily walks! She's a bit wary of strangers, but loved our ExecDirector right away. It just takes her a short while to warm up to new people. She is crate trained and housebroken.
We cat tested Adira. We believe a home without cats and pocket pets is best for her!
Many rescue dogs need patience when transitioning to a new home. Our foster homes try to socialize each dog. We have made recommendations on their best home placement based on our foster home information.
Adira MUST got to training with her new family. If she's in the Arlington 'area' - you will continue to work with Evergreen School for Dogs. Outside the Arlington area, we can share training recommendations.
Adira is spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated. Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption.
Adoption fee is $175. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3.
Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA.
