My story

Minnie is a super sweet mid-sized 13 year old chihuahua mix. She ended up at the shelter as a stray and when no one claimed her, she came to our rescue. Minnie is very quiet and easy going. She is fine with other dogs and cats, but really enjoys a calm environment, so will do best in a home without a lot of activity. Minnie has a mild heart murmur that will need to be monitored, but her bloodwork looks great and at this point in time, she does not need medication. While in our care, Minnie has had a dental and a small skin tag removed near her eye. She is a little hard of hearing but has lots of pep in her step!! Minnie understands house training, but needs to go out frequently so may do best with potty pads placed in strategic areas. This sweet girl is very ready to find a loving family of her own!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require an application and a home visit prior to all of our adoptions. We do adopt out of state, and may have a representative from another rescue complete the home visit for us. Once the home visit is completed and approved, the dog is available for you to adopt! While this sounds like a lengthy process, it actually is often completed in a day or two. We have an adoption contract that is filled out at the time of adoption, along with adoption fee's collected at that time. Our adoption fee's are Under 1yr: $250 1yr to 9yrs: $200 10yrs and up: $150

More about this rescue

We are a nonprofit, 501(C)(3), all volunteer, limited admission small dog rescue organization funded by private donations and adoption fees. We are a group of individuals who are dedicated to rescuing small breed dogs who have been abandoned, abused, neglected or left behind by their former owners. Our belief is that companion animals are living beings who are not merely "pets" but family members. We strive to find homes for them who share this view. We are committed to providing them with a temporary home where they receive veterinary care, including spay or neuter, socialization, exercise, love and good nutrition until their forever home can be found. We do not discriminate against small dogs based on breed or physical disability. Mini Mighty Mutts is a limited admissions rescue. We can only take in as many animals as our foster homes can safely and responsibly care for. We do not euthanize animals to make room for more. We simply stop taking in new animals until we have room. Each homeless dog will remain in our care until he or she finds a new home.
