My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

She is a sweet, kind pup. All she wants is a person she can bond with. She bonds quickly and responds to her person very well. Loves car rides, playing fetch, long walks and hiking. She definitely belongs to the Retriever family -- squirrels beware! She has attended doggie daycare.

She is shy when meeting new people, but not at all fearful of them when passing. She knows the 'touch' command/treat reward and Warms up quickly with treats.

She does have environmental allergies here in GA and takes OTC meds when she seems itchy/inflamed.

She would love nothing more than to snuggle with her person and sleep in the bed at night of course. When she had a home she slept in bed with her human toddler. Their home burned down in July; they've been unable to find/afford another place to accommodate her.

To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. Please expect an adoption fee of $300; some of our urgent or long-term dogs have discounted fees.
