My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Merci was rescued as a puppy during hurricane Harvey, she suffered some damage but is quite the survivor. While she is a bit of a nervous girl she adores her human and is a funny, outgoing girl. She is house and crate trained, will ask to go outside if for some reason her human forgets and do everything she can before having an accident in her home.

She gets along fine with other dogs, would be OK around dog savvy cats but anything that runs away she thinks wants to be chased. Merci thinks her human is the greatest thing ever with meals and treats a close second. She’s a homebody although she will do OK going places, she just has trust issues with strangers and tries to avoid them.

Merci is current with all her vetting, vaccines, flea/tick and heartworm prevention. She is spayed and micro chipped.

More about this rescue

Hillcrest Animal Rescue is a 501c3, non-profit organization dedicated to saving as many homeless, neglected and abused animals as our resources allow. All of our rescues are placed in loving foster homes and receive thorough medical care. Each companion animal is heartworm tested and treated if positive; placed on monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention; altered and micro chipped. Every animal receives a full complement of vaccines depending on risk and immune status. Chronic pain is not acceptable with animals in our care. We will take whatever measures are necessary to ensure that all of our animals are living free of pain and disease. To summarize our belief in veterinary care, any animal at Hillcrest Rescue receives the same level of veterinary care as if she or he were the only animal we have.
