My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Born February 2019, Nova is a female lab mix seeking a special forever home. Nova has seizures and is on medication that MUST be given every 12 hours. That medication costs about $60 per month using GoodRx and BuzzRX. These medications cannot be stopped or have doses skipped. One of our director’s can speak more in depth with interested adopters about the severity of Nova’s seizures. With consistency, Nova’s seizures are well controlled and she hasn’t had a seizure in about a year.

Nova is 100% pure good girl. She is crate trained, potty trained, and rides well in a car (Except for an occasional attempt at climbing into her favorite coffee shop window 😃).

Nova is fantastic with all dogs, cats, and kids. She can be very bouncy when excited so a home with children over 5 who aren’t afraid of being knocked down would be best. Nova’s must haves are a home where she can cuddle on the couch with her person, someone who can accommodate medication every 12 hours, and someone who is heavy handed with the treats. Nova is quite the acrobat so she requires a 5 foot or taller fence.

If Nova seems like the girl for you and you’d like to learn more about her special needs, please submit an application at www.mikeyschance.com or email us at mikeyschance@gmail.com with questions.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require an adoption application to be filled out which includes personal references. An in-Home check by a Mikey's Chance volunteer is also performed prior to adoption. Our dogs come to the adopter "ready-to-go" with current Vet health checks, all shots and vaccinations current and the animal spayed or neutered, as well as micro-chipped.

Our adoption process can take 2-4 weeks to process as we are run completely by volunteers, all of whom work full time jobs.

Go meet their pets

We depend on a network of volunteers and fosters for the care of our dogs. The dogs are fostered primarily in Tri-Cities, WA. We often have Meet 7 Greet events at Petsmart and Paws Natural Pet Emporium LLC both in Kennewick.

To find out about these and our other events check us out on Facebook or at our website at MikeysChance.com.

More about this rescue

"Mikey's Chance" is a dog rescue organization organized under Washington State articles of Incorporation as a Non-profit Charity. We focus mainly on saving dogs that are at risk or on “Death Row” in shelters in our area, and placing them to great families. We work with individual adopters, private rescuers, and rescue organizations that share our values. All our dogs are up to date on shots, sterilized, and microchipped prior to adoption, and they are all carefully evaluated to ensure the best possible match with adopters.
