My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**GIGI HAS BEEN ADOPTED!** Gigi is a lovely, beautiful, good-natured, 2-year-old female merle Great Dane looking for her forever family. She's on the smaller side for the breed at just a little over 90 pounds. However, she is a bit thin, and an ideal weight for her is 105-110 pounds. Gigi was rescued from an overburdened animal control facility in rural Kentucky. She has been very well-cared for, loved, and socialized her entire life but was tearfully surrendered for adoption by her family when they could not keep her from wandering off their property. They had a 4-foot chain-link fence that Gigi could climb, and she would wander to neighboring properties, and they were afraid she would be hit by a car or shot by a neighboring farmer. She is now in a loving and nurturing foster home in Chicago while waiting to find her new family. Gigi is a typical Dane. She's friendly, easygoing, and highly affectionate. She attaches profoundly and quickly to her people and will be a life-long loyal companion to all she loves. She gets along wonderfully with children, other dogs of all sizes, and cats. Gigi is also crate trained and housebroken. Because of her ability to climb chain-link, we will only place her into a home with a 6-foot or taller privacy fence or a home that can commit to leash walking her several times a time. We expect this gorgeous and practically perfect pooch to be a popular girl, so please get your application in today if you are interested in meeting her!
Gigi is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date with vaccines. She is also taking monthly flea and heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee to the rescue is $400. She is currently in a foster home in Chicago and can be seen by appointment only after submitting an application. For more information or an application, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com or visit palsplacerescue.org. Unfortunately, we cannot place holds on our dogs for any reason. Please do not apply unless you are willing and prepared to welcome a dog into your home within three days of applying.

• Gigi's adoption fee is $400. This fee helps cover any necessary medical care to prepare her for adoption. Pal's Place relies solely on donations to care for the animals in our rescue. Your donation also helps save other animals like Gigi from euthanasia.

• Please email Palsplace1@hotmail.com for an adoption application, and please put the dog's name in the subject line. Please be sure to check your spam/junk folder; sometimes, the applications end up in there!
