Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Chevy is a magnificent 3-year old neutered male American Pit Bull Terrier mix who was surrendered by his owner on May 18, 2021.
Chevy has a beautiful snow white coat and an adorable face with an award-winning smile and the cutest facial expressions.
This big boy has his own ‘bachelor’s pad’ just off the shelter lobby and is often seen peeking through the window to greet visitors. Chevy has a friendly, outgoing personality and loves his people friends (including older children), but he does NOT welcome other dogs or cats in his circle of friends. Chevy is looking for a home where he could be an ‘only child’ and soak up all of the attention (and treats) for himself.
Chevy weighs 75 lbs and is a muscular guy. He is strong on a leash and would do best with an experienced handler.
Chevy was neutered on June 7, 2021 and was also given rabies vaccine.
HSOV Kennel Manager Rachal Merrow suggested a “St Patrick’s Day” photo session for Chevy and even persuaded him to wear a festive green top hat and stylish green/gold bandana. Chevy humored Rachal and seemed to enjoy the extra attention (and ‘good boy’ treats). Chevy knows several commands and takes treats gently from your hands. Chevy is hoping that the Luck-of-the-Irish (and his new photos) will help him find the perfect home at the end of the rainbow.
