My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello everybody,

My name is Mica - it means "loved friend". How cool is that??!!

So my story is sad one. You see, I spent the majority of my life chained, starving and repeatedly bred. I was constantly on the defense, protecting my young pups and nearly non-existent food as best I could. Thank goodness someone stepped in and turned these awful "waste of air" beings into the authorities.

I was now a court ordered seizure. When a dog is seized, it is because they are so neglected that death is eminent. Without intervention, I would have been sent over the rainbow bridge. Thank God for Lucies angels!!

My condition was so bad, that I had to stay hospitalized for nearly 2 weeks. Fortunately for me, I was in better shape than the others that I was seized with :(

Despite all of this horror, I still have faith in and love people. People like you! I am a dominant female, so I would be best suited for a submissive male, or be an only dog where I can shower my family with love.

Being a Lacy, I kinda do like to have a job to do, but not always. I am fun loving and like to run and play. I do have my stubborn moments as well but hey, don't we all??

Inquire about me won't you?? I'm ready for you to take me home!!

*** We strive to ensure our dogs are going to a safe, loving and caring home. Phone interviews are required for all adoptions****

Additional adoption info

Interested adopters contact our adoption volunteer either via email or phone. Our volunteer in turn talks to them more about the pet they are interested in. If the adopter seems like a good match, they are requested to complete an application. They come to the rescue location to meet the dog of interest. We also sometimes arrange a home visit to make sure the environment is suitable for the dog. If all is well, they will get a call from a volunteer letting them know they are approved for adoption. They will be provided copies of the vaccination and sterilization records. A delivery day will be arranged for the dog. Either the adopter may come and pick up the dog, or a volunteer can arrange to have the dog delivered. They sign our adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. We do periodically contact our adopters to check up on the dog to make sure everyone is happy and healthy and enjoying their new life!

More about this rescue

Local Unity for Canines In Emergency Situations. We are a dog rescue organization, not a shelter or a pound!

We are a group of neighbors who, as a community effort, are helping the many strays and dumped dogs in the area. We take them in, care for them, feed - vaccinate - worm - socialize, and try to find them forever homes. We do depend on donations to help out, and will accept food, medication, bedding, fostering, and direct donations to Veterinarians.
