My story

Callista is a bit of a boss. She lives life on her terms. Because of her cross breed she can be a little nippy if she doesn't trust someone. Heelers usually have ""their person"" and everyone else is second fiddle and suspect to them. They can be so affectionate with their person and provide so much love and admiration. She will not do well in a home that is busy or that has small children but if you have a quiet lifestyle and are looking for a loyal companion you have got to meet Callista!

More about this shelter

CARA -- Community Animal Rescue & Adoption, Inc., is a No Kill animal shelter located in Jackson, MS, that cares for an average of 160 animals daily. We do not receive any funding from the city, county, state or federal government and operate exclusively through the generosity of our community by private donations from individuals, businesses, & fundraising events. Our primary goals are to place our adoptable pets in loving, caring homes and to educate the public on responsible pet ownership including why spay/neuter is so important. Please donate to our cause and volunteer as we strive to better the lives of pets in Mississippi.
