My story

Hello! I'm King Thor! Are you looking for a smart dog? A dog with an eager-to-please-you personality? A dog that learns quickly, and also has an affectionate side? Well, you are in luck because you have found him. I'm that dog! It's me!

Let's tackle the training aspect first. Yep, I'm smart as a whip. I love learning. I am treat-motivated which I think makes teaching dogs a little easier. There is a volunteer here that loves working with me because she likes great dogs that like to learn. She's taught me to sit, shake, down, off, etc.

I pay attention well when the person training me has a strong and decisive personality and doesn't allow any monkey-business. I don't want to do monkey-business; I want to have a strong and capable leader and best friend.

That leads me next to the affectionate aspect of me. Yep, I'm snuggly. I like to get petted, and to cuddle up on a sofa together. Life's not all about learning, it's also about loving too, don't you think? And playing! I like to play with toys. Those frisbees with center hole? I love those! In addition, I am a loyal boy. I will make a great walking buddy, and a hiking and adventure dog.

My strong personality and work ethic is valuable in an experienced dog person's hands. I'm happy when I have work and jobs to do. I will make an effective dog owner a great best friend. I am a good boy from a working line breed.

The person who adopts me will want an active, smart, happy dog. Is that you? Yes? Then let's meet. See you soon! Love, King Thor

More about this rescue

www.SierraCountyHumaneSociety.com The Sierra County Humane Society (SCHS), a non-profit 501c3 corporation dedicated to the welfare of animals, is staffed by dedicated volunteers, and is governed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors. Companion animals reside at Desert Haven Animal Refuge (DHAR), which is owned and operated by the SCHS, where their daily nutrition, exercise, and nurturance needs are met by volunteers and work-camping staff. As a no-kill companion animal sanctuary, dogs and cats live at DHAR as long as they need to until a loving, suitable home is found.
