Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Mandy!
Mandy was rescued along w/ her at the time, newborn puppies born in a high kill shelter. Mandy has been a great mama to her babies who have all been adopted… now it’s her turn to find a forever home!
Mixed Breed - we are not sure her actual mixes but would guess Husky, Herding, possible Akita mix. Because visual guesses are only about 50% accurate, we encourage people to read about the dogs’ personalities and temperament to help pair you w/ a best match.
2 yr, approximately 60 lbs.
Mandy is Housetrained and has great house manners!
No separation anxiety when left alone.
Good w/ respectful kids -- has met and interacted w/ 2 children under 10.
Mandy will alert bark at door - she met/was afraid of a very tall man but not aggressive. She can take time to warm up and will need confidence building/not be forced to interact if she is nervous.
Loves to be outside; moderately active — her activity level may increase now that she has weaned her babies. We recommend at min 1-2 walks daily; please note many dogs need more supplemental activity than that. Enrichment/mental stimulation combined w/ daily physical activity.
Not familiar w/ cars will need continued short/positive exposure on car rides
Already knows basic cues like sit, shake, come
Cats unknown. Was dog tested w/ one dog at shelter & arrived at the shelter w/ another female dog (not in our program). We have not had the chance to dog test Mandy during her stay with us.
$275 adoption donation will include: vetted, fecal tested, heartworm test, microchip, DHPP, Rabies, Dewormed, Flea tick treated and spay.
