BRIA IS CURRENTLY BEING FOSTERED IN MISSOURI
This cutie is Bria, our newest female Mastino Royalty, a 4-year-old blue Neo who was originally purchased at Petland as a gift from a niece to her uncle. Bria was with the uncle for most of her life until he changed jobs and was no longer able to afford care for her. The niece took Bria back, however, she lived in an apartment where large dogs were not permitted. She then posted on Facebook that she was rehoming Bria, refusing to surrender the dog to a rescue.
Bria went to her new owners in late January of 2022, where she got along great with the male dogs in the home. However, she kept trying to attack a deaf Great Dane female. Again, we emphasize the pervasiveness and seriousness of SAME SEX AGGRESSION in this breed; rarely can it be managed safely and successfully. Aside from her aggression toward other female dogs, Bria is wonderful—good in the car, at the vet, with cats, etc. She is an amazing dog, just not with other females!
Unfortunately, Bria tore the cruciate ligaments in BOTH legs right before coming to us. One leg was much worse than the other, but she still needed TPLO surgery in both legs. She has now had TPLO surgery on both legs and is ready for a forever home!
Please apply to foster-to-adopt Bria if you’re interested in this beautiful girl! She has already been bounced around from home to home several times, so she’d really love if her next home could be her forever! Ideally, we would like to place her in a home with little to no steps, and in a warmer climate if possible.
