My story

Meet Rocky! This big boy is your typical happy German Shepherd eager to find his new home! He is currently working with our partnered trainers at Found Training Center on his foundational skills to prepare him for his new home. He is very handler oriented and very motivated to learn, so he's catching on to new behaviors very quickly. Rocky bonds quickly with his handlers and becomes very attached in true German Shepherd style. He would love an active family that keeps him challenged and enriched through activities like fetch, tug (his favorites), or even hiking or other adventures. Because he is both food and toy motivated, Rocky is very fun to work with and teach new things to.

Rocky has been very friendly with people and most dogs. He is a big and goofy player, so he will need to be introduced to any new dog playmates before being approved to go home. He seems to prefer females, but can coexist with male dogs as well. He can be cat tested upon request.

Rocky is currently in boarding and could also benefit from a foster home with someone interested in continuing his structure and training until we find him a permanent placement. Rocky's adoption comes with 50% off of all training services at Found Training Center, where he is currently working on his training. He will have proficiency in his basic obedience, leash, and "place" skills before he goes home. If you are interested in adopting or fostering Rocky, please reach out to brittney@caninesandcompany.org.

More about this rescue

Canines & Company is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which rescues dogs in need and trains them for their forever homes. Founded by two certified dog trainers, we believe in the importance of structure and guidance when bringing a new rescue dog home and want to provide that to our adopters. When adopting from Canines & Company, you are adopting from a team of qualified professionals who have performed multiple temperament testing on our dogs over various stages of training and want to provide a dog with basic training skills to their new family. Because we also want to provide the gift of the human-animal bond to those who might not be able to own pets, we also provide animal assisted activities to the community with our Therapy Dog Troupe. Our rescue dogs love comforting people in need of the love only an animal can provide.
