My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Joy is a doggy named Jesse!

Rescued from the Central Valley Fresno SPCA, where he had been since November 2021, he’s gratefully settling into the safety and security of his foster home, spreading smiles wherever he puts his paws. Friendly and fond of attention, he loves having his belly scratched and being brushed, often standing up to reach his foster mom’s hand to ask for pets, and lying by her legs when she sleeps.

Both active and curious, he loves running, playing hide and seek in the grass, and going for walks, politely passing other dogs and gently sniffing some of the neighborhood children they encounter along the way. Currently being bathed with water from a bucket and gradually getting used to car rides, sticking his head out the window and feeling the breeze, he’s not a fan of loud noises, barking until he discovers their source before calming down again.

Motivated by meat and chewy treats, accepting them gently, he knows “sit”, “down” and “go”, responds to his name, is leash trained, isn’t crated when alone (he simply walks around and lies down on his bed) and is fully house trained. He is, however, a flight risk, and might run off if not monitored -- through opened doors, the garage, gates and car doors – and so, his foster mom always keeps him leashed to keep him safe.

With some paw-lishing still needed and so much to share, Jesse will thrive in a loving home that will patiently complete his doggy education, further his socialization, bolster his confidence and keep him both safe and physically satisfied fur-ever.

Jesse is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. To meet or adopt Jesse, fill out an application and a volunteer will contact you shortly.
