My story

Shea!     DOB: 4/2021    Weight: 40lbs

Shea is a gorgeous, solid white, deaf pittie mix who is a shelter favorite. Once she warms up to you, she’s a wiggly bundle of joy every time she sees you! She is completely house and crate trained. Quiet and well behaved. Currently has a big yard to run at the shelter and spends her time out sunbathing or looking for little critters in the grass. And of course, she often enjoys playing in the dirt and dirtying up her pretty white coat lol. Shea does good for car rides and baths. She likes snuggling up with her people on the couch and assisting you in eating your dinner. Shea walks well on a leash and takes treats nicely. This sweet girl previously lived with four younger kids but older kids are preferred to better understand her lack of hearing as she is completely deaf. She’d do best as an only pet. She does not charge after other dogs here, will walk beside them on a walk and even play with some, but has not done well actually living with another.

Her adoption fee is $175. That helps us to cover worming, vaccines, spay/neuter, heart worm test, and microchip. We offer a 2-3 week trial. If for some reason it does not work out, you’ll be refunded $100 of your fee. If interested in adopting her please fill out an application on our NEW website. https://www.newliferescues.org . If you have issues, send us a message through our Facebook. Came to the shelter 2/2021.

The fastest way to get the ball rolling is to complete an adoption application for the dog that caught your eye.  Thank you for considering the adoption of a shelter dog!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process consists of an adoption application followed by an interview. Upon arriving at the shelter, each dog receives a Bordetella shot, DHPPC vaccination and worming. At the veterinarian's office, our dogs receive a rabies vaccination, a spay or neuter surgery, and are tested for heartworm. If a dog tests positive, we treat the dog and then retest to confirm that the treatment was successful. Additionally, our dogs are microchipped before going home with their new family. Adoption fees are $85 and help to cover the cost of vetting.
