My story

The SCHS has been helping a fellow rescuer find forever homes for his cats. MUFFIN MAN is a beauty. He’s confident, enjoys the catio, and seeks attention but he can become overstimulated when pet too much. He needs a home that will let him do his thing, even better with no small children. He’s also Feline AIDS (FIV) positive, but that does not mean he can’t live in a home with other peace-loving cats. Please do your homework! The standard adoption fee is $100 cash or $105 debit/credit. This includes feline testing, vaccines, spaying/neutering, micro-chipping and de-worming. You may complete an application to start the adoption process at www.stanlycountyhumanesociety.org, under the 'Adoption' tab. Like us on facebook at Stanly County Humane Society Cats. Thanks for considering adopting a rescue pet!

Why adoption is a great option

Muffin Man, a Albemarle Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Albemarle, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Albemarle.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Albemarle already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Albemarle breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Albemarle paves the way for another one to be saved.
