My story

Freckles and Stripes are two cuddly twins who do everything together! Freckles is the stoic bigger brother. He's protective of his small sister and loves cuddling at night. Freckles loves his belly rubs and will enter a state of total surrender when you pet him quite right! Stripes is the more active and vocal of the two, the one who will remind you of your duties as a their feeder. As tiny as she may seem, she eats as much as--if not more than!--her big brother. A preference for bell rubs runs in the family as she, too, will let you baby her in return for some of those. This dynamic duo is currently in foster care. If you have any questions about them, please email adoptions@morrisanimalrefuge.org, and be sure to check out their photo gallery at https://photos.app.goo.gl/hSHXFBEEVuEpPEwe7 and their instagram at https://www.instagram.com/p/CexFuiMupoZ/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

When you adopt an animal, you’re not just saving the life of the animal you adopted. You’re also opening up space for the next animal in need. Our goal at the Morris Animal Refuge is to approach the adoption process holistically to make the best matches for our adopters and for our animals. To begin the adoption process, please fill out our Adoption Questionnaire so we can get to know more about you: https://www.morrisanimalrefuge.org/adoption-form Once this is done, please allow 7-14 days for us to process your form. Due to an overwhelming amount of inquiries, wait times are longer than usual. You will be contacted via email when your form is processed. The Morris Animal Refuge reserves the right to refuse any adoption. Adoption Fees Kittens: $150, or $200 for a bonded pair Adult Cats (6 months+): $60, or $100 for a bonded pair Puppies: $400+ Small Dogs (<25 lbs): $250 Large Dogs: $150 Other Animals: Contact us as adoptions@morrisanimalrefuge.org All animals adopted from Morris Animal Refuge are: - Spayed/Neutered - Up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations - Treated for fleas and most intestinal parasites - Microchipped - Cared for by our loving staff until they find their forever homes We strongly recommend any animals adopted from us to see a veterinarian for a post-adoption check-up and to establish care. *COVID-19 POLICIES* If you’re interested in adopting a dog: At this time we are only accepting adoption applications for specific dogs currently in our shelter or foster homes. The procedure for dog adoptions is outlined below. Please note that skipping steps can result in your inquiry being delayed or unanswered: 1. Fill out our adoption questionnaire. 2. Email adoptions@morrisanimalrefuge.org with the name of the dog you’re interested in as the subject line. 3. Sit tight while our adoptions team reviews your inquiry. You will only be contacted if the animal is still available and you are a good fit based on this animal’s needs. If you’re interested in adopting a cat: Fill out an adoption questionnaire and keep an eye on your email for an approval message. If you’re interested in or have questions about a specific cat on our website, feel free to drop us a line at adoptions@morrisanimalrefuge.org. While we can’t guarantee the availability of any specific cats, we can schedule an appointment for you to visit the cats at our shelter.

More about this shelter

The Morris Animal Refuge is a 501(c)(3) shelter dedicated to helping the homeless, abandoned and unwanted pets of the Philadelphia region. Founded in 1874 by Elizabeth Morris, we were the first organization dedicated to sheltering and rehoming pets, and continue that legacy today by providing adoptions, a low-cost spay/neuter program, fostering, humane education and more.
