My story

Breed: Pit Bull / Sharpei mix

Age: 2 years old
Weight: 50lbs
Gender: Neutered Male
Good with dogs: passing at a 6ft distance, yes. No living with other dogs or close quarters. He gets defensive.
Good with cats: in a crate yes. Loose, unknown but would lean towards no.
Good with kids: YES. YES. ALLLL DAY YES!! Sign him up for a Little Kids Tea Party, baseball practice, costume contests, snuggle nap sessions, allllllll the things.

Simple Personality Bulletpoints:
- Outgoing and always happy. Nothing phases him.
- Loves toys
- Loves Food
- Loves Water

- Loves life

Now here is where things get "wordy" because we literally can't find anything bad to say about him and if you made it this far  might as well keep going right?

Ok you guys. No joke. We will continue to preach that Screech is amazing. Plain and simple. If you want that “classic Pit Bull” personality (a fantastic mix of steadfast, loyal, patient, amazing focus on handler, aiming to work for just a “good job” look his way allll rolled into a silly, gregarious, playful, class clown who can rock ANY outfit) in the classic Pittie size (45-50lbs) he’s your guy. He’s about 4 years old. Has passed every temperament test we have thrown at him. April of 2023 he managed to maintain complete composure on the CBS 8 News Starion sitting next to a guy making Vegan Sushi (his trash bucket was complete in reach of Screech), who then lit the sushi on fire all while the guitars guy played music and a camera rolled in for a close up. There is nothing he can't handle. He is SOOOOO patient with kids of all sizes. Gets to their level and gets all "squishy". Loves motorized wheel chairs and people who let him hop a ride in them. Skate boards/scooters/ATV’s/Pimped-out Hoopty’s/RC Cars…couldn’t care less. Sitting at a table having lunch. Sure! He will pop his head up and politely watch. But never pushy and even gives up after a while. Crowds of people at San Diego's Gaslamp Pet Parade. No problem. Trucked right along next to a fully costumed Grinch. Passes dogs on leash with not even a peep (with a 6ft bubble for safety). Walked by cats in a crate, couldn’t care less (wouldn’t try him with them loose though). 200 kids at a school ranging from Kindergarten to 5th grade running loose on a playground, that’s his Jam! Figured out a dog door in 2 tries. Plays fetch like a professional ball player (Padres? Need an outfielder??)

Seriously guys. Perfection in a steel blue coat. THE ONLY REASON we have hand him this long (3+ years): needs to be an only dog. Yup. That’s it. Can’t live with another dog and does best with a 6ft social bubble on leash (even if it’s less, not a peep from him but as we have learned with COVID. 6ft is best heheheh)

Where is his family?? Is it you?? Crate trained. Perfectly mannered on leash when he knows you need him to be (but if you want him to run wild, hold on!). Stubborn like any true Pit and 100% knows what you are asking him to do. He's just testing your resolve.

Screech is our go-to-dog for any and all PR events (that aren't too crowded with dogs). Will he be yours?

Like all our dogs: NO OFF LEASH in an unsecured area. NEVER unattended in a yard. Be wary of open doors and windows. Crate Training is a MUST.

More about this rescue

We are an organization founded to assist owners with missing pets through coaching, field work and humane trapping. This extends to securing street strays who we exit when no owner comes forward. We rehab and evaluate each dog for an appropriate fit for adoption.
