Pokey is a female white and black mix breed puppy. She is 1 year old and weighs 28 pounds. Pokey is spayed, vaccinated including rabies, heartworm negative and on heartworm preventive. Pokey is ready for adoption.
Pokey and her five siblings were rescued from Bossier City Animal Control at around 8 weeks old. Pokey is a beautiful little girl. She is social and comfortable with people including kids. Pokey is kennel trained and walks on a leash. Pokey is fast and loves toys. We know she would like an active dog as a playmate and a fenced yard to run and play. Pokey is an inside dog so we are looking for a home that can handle some activity and is willing to kennel her inside when unsupervised.
The adoption fee for Pokey is $200. Pokey will be adopted with a spay/neuter contract, signed by the adopter requiring the adopter to have the puppy spayed/neutered before six months of age at the adopter’s expense.

We require all potential adopters to submit an application. We only accept applications for a specific dog you are interested in adopting. We do not keep waiting lists or files of general applications for dogs we might get later. A completed adoption application and, upon approval, an adoption contract is required. Jeff Tarpley Rescue welcomes applications from homeowners, renters, and condo or apartment dwellers. At a minimum, a phone interview will be conducted and a vet reference checked before the applicant may meet their preferred pet.
We adopt primarily in the 4 states of the ArkLaTexOma. Applicants willing to travel to Texarkana will also be considered with additional requirements to qualify as approved.
