My story

Reb - Adopt Me
Intake date: 19 Nov 2021 ----- Age at Intake: 3-4 yrs----- Breed: DSH ----- Size: 11 lbs ----- Status: Owner passed away, hoarding situation ----- Compatible with: cats, dogs, courteous children. ----- Suitable For: Indoor only home ----- Behavior/medical needs: none known ----- Additional Notes: Reb came to rescue after his owner passed away. There were multiple cats, dogs, and other animals in the home. He does very good with other animals. Reb is not at all shy. He loves everyone he meets and clearly was a tough tom cat back in his day. He would love a home with another cat if he could, and he is great with dogs. He is a big orange boy looking for his best family. Reb is ready for his forever home and orange kitties rock! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If interested in meeting and potentially adopting please read the adoption requirements and complete the adoption application located at forbellessake.org. Adoption fee is SPONSORED AND ONLY $25 and he is neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and treated for any known medical needs. Indoor only homes allowed and declawing violates contract and is strictly prohibited. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Spay/neuter = $120; Vaccinations = $40.00; Microchip = $10.00 Deworming = $20.00; IVs and Antibiotics= $100; Total vetting = $290 + food, litter, etc Adoption fee = $125 ----- Without support, we cannot continue to rescue cats. Unfortunately few will pay the minimal adoption fee when cats can be found free anywhere. What they aren’t prepared for is the vetting expense required and then the animals are not fixed and the reproduction surplus continues. Sponsoring a cats adoption fee allows us to find them a home after being fully vetted, continue intaking and vetting, and continue baby steps towards “fixing feline overpopulation”. To sponsor, send your donation via PayPal at forbellessake@gmail.com with the name of the cat you would like to sponsor in the note! As always, we appreciate your support and cannot do this without you. You are unsung heroes!!

Why adoption is a great option

Reb, a Minot Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Minot, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Minot.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Minot already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Minot breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Minot paves the way for another one to be saved.
