My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! I’m Lucy! I'm a really good girl! When I'm all done playing and ready to settle down, I love to lay next to you, or on you, and show you how much I love you! I’m such a pleaser and a really good girl, but I need just the right home for me.

I'm potty trained and will become vocal to let you know when I need to go outside. I’m also crate trained and have been getting used to my crate; I can quietly sit in it while guests are over - well, alright, I might whimper once or twice, but for the most part, I’m really a good girl in it! I respond to my name very well and am a very smart girl and easily teachable!

I’m 1 year old and although I love to play and play with other dogs, I can't live with another dog. I can be reactive, and suddenly become aggressive with another dog, even one I've been friends with, so it's best for me to be an only dog. But I'll shower you with all the doggy love you could want!

I must have some sort of herding breed in me because, boy, do I like to herd people and dogs away from my favorite human. My foster mom stopped this behavior immediately and my herding stopped. I need a very confident guardian to continue to let me know this behavior is not okay. I only did it once at my foster mom's house and I haven’t done it since, but just in case, a home without little kids would be best!

We’ve been working on walking on a leash, since I do like to pull. I'll need a very active home, because if I become bored, I can become anxious. Maybe someone who likes to go on runs - if you need a running buddy, I’m your girl! Although I have some sort of herding breed in me, I was not raised as a herding dog and will chase any small creature: rabbits, squirrels, birds. I would do best with a fenced yard, as I do not do well off leash and will take off.

Don’t let these things scare you away, I promise you I’m such a good girl! Like I said, I’m easily teachable, I’ve been at my foster mom's house for two weeks and she was able to break me from my herding behavior easily! I will do anything to please you and show you how much I love you!
