My story

**WE ONLY DO HOME VISITS FOR ADOPTIONS NEAR BROWARD & PALM BEACH COUNTIES**

Anastasia was dropped off to be euthanized at the county shelter before thanksgiving. They couldn't even take her to their personal vet because they knew Anastasia didn't deserve to die! Her previous people said she wouldn’t eat or drink, fell over often, and attacked their two newer fluffy puppies. The county vet did not agree that euthanasia was appropriate and Get a Life Pet Rescue was able to save her for the second time. (Yes, she was saved and adopted 12 years ago) She has luxating patellas but is super mobile.., a fatty tumor that does not need medical attention at this time. We got her dental cleaning, cardio workup, senior blood panel with urinalysis, as well as the other vetting to get her feeling revitalized. Now her name is Miss Sassy Pants,  Sassy for short! She brings so much joy with her personality and mature adult waddle! LOL!  Sassy is 13 years old, 8 pounds, and ready for a new home that will cherish her, and keep up with her needs. She does get a cough that is controlled by meds but it is only given as needed, not daily. She is looking for a dependable family to dote on her like the Princess she is!  We are looking for someone who will be loyal and fair to her. See her video playlist HERE. Anastasia/Sassy's adoption fee is $150 to go towards her vetting (vaccines, spay/neuter, heartworm/Ehrlichia/Lyme test, fecal test, pre-op blood work, dental cleaning, and microchip as well as grooming if needed). If you are interested please fill out the adoption application For additional information regarding our adoption process, please check our FAQ's Page

*All dogs in the care of Get a Life Pet Rescue live in loving foster homes while waiting for their perfect match. They don't live in cages or crates (unless there is a medical reason to do so.) They are treated as family pets while in our care. * All dogs in our care are fed premium brand holistic food as well as supplements and vitamins specific to each dog's needs. We don't buy inexpensive bulk dry kibble, our rescues are fed premium wet food diets as part of a comprehensive rehabilitation program to ensure maximum health.*All of our rescues receive complete quality vetting including full dental cleaning with pre-op bloodwork, spay/neuter, vaccines, and grooming. Dogs in need of specialized medicine will be seen by specialists, such as full cardiac workups, ophthalmologist visits, all suspicious lumps, and bumps are biopsied, and every medical need is transparent to potential adopters. *Once you adopt from Get a Life Pet Rescue, you become part of our compassionate family and we are here for you if a problem with your precious dog arises.

More about this rescue

Based out of Broward County and serving the Tri-County area, Get-A-Life Pet Rescue volunteers retrieve pets who have been abandoned and provide them with a chance at the life they deserve. Our animals come from a variety of sources, including Animal Services, owner surrenders and as strays. Get-A- Life Pet Rescue volunteers, including our Board Members, play an active role in finding the animals a safe and happy home. All our pets are given a full veterinary exam. They are vaccinated, spayed/neutered, micro chipped, put on heartworm/flea & tick prevention medication as well as dental & grooming services as needed. Donations are very critical as they assist us in giving each pet full medical treatment, physical and behavioral rehabilitation and the necessities that allow them to thrive in their "forever home". Because Get-A-Life Pet Rescue doesn’t have a facility to house the pets as they are rescued, each pet is matched with an appropriate foster home in the Tri-County area. With individual fostering, we are able to provide interested applicants with details on the pet's personality and provide a needs list to allow the pet a tranquil transition. Our volunteers promote responsible adoptions and lifelong relationships with the adopter’s new pet. We educate all adopters and provide them with all tools necessary to have a balanced and happy lifelong pet. Our ultimate goal at Get-A-Life Pet Rescue is to increase humane awareness through education, resulting in the humane treatment of animals, and reduction of the over population and abuse problems of today.
