Good with Cats, Dogs and kids over 6?
She does chase and torment's cats, so NO cats. Dog and kid friendly.
House Trained? She is so close to being house trained. She will go to the sliding glass door or a pee pad by the door to let you know she needs to go out. There have been very few accidents in the house. If she does have an accident, it is by the sliding glass door.
Signals to go outside: Will sniff the floor and/or start to circle an area. Will go to the sliding glass door.
Crate trained?: Yes, she currently sleeps in the crate at night.
Challenges: Continue to housebreak her. Redirect her attention so she learns your hands are not chew toys. Sometimes she will rush a door. Can be stubborn about coming in when called without shaking the treat bag.
Medical issues: None
What would be the best home for her: Another active dog in the home for her to play with and to show her the ropes. Fenced in yard. Someone home more often than not.
Not good with: Cats
Our adoption process starts with our application. Once the application is approved, a member of Legacy will contact you to set up a home visit. The home visit usually last 1-1 1/2 hours and is to make sure our dog and any current dogs/cats are getting along, as well as both of us agreeing it's a fit. At this time the adoption fee is due, and begins the 2 week trial. We will check in during the 2 week trial. If it's not working, our dog is returned to the foster home and all except $100.00 {$75 if Senior} of the adoption fee is returned. At the end of the 2 week trial, you decide if you will finalize the adoption - if finalized, the Adoption Contract is signed and all medical records are turned over to you. If at any time you need to rehome the dog it contractually needs to be returned to Legacy Dog Rescue.
