Ruthie is about 2 years old and about 45 pounds. She is very well trained. She walks properly on the leash, and knows the basic sit, down, etc. She even stays when you leave the room and will wait for a release! She is also house trained and crate trained. Presently Ruthie is living with other dogs and two cats and is fine with all of them. However, Ruthie is looking for a home with adult humans that are all hers! Ruthie is a super smart girl and will easily take over so her human needs the run a tight ship and be the one in charge. Ruthie, with respect for her human, will be quietly at your feet at all times. With the right match, this is the perfect dog! We will post some videos of her on our Facebook & Instagram soon!
All our dogs/pups are spayed/neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. They have been dewormed and are current on vaccinations. Our adoption fee includes 30 days of complimentary medical insurance for your new pet. Breed and size is frequently a guess and can not be guaranteed.
Our dogs are fostered on a private residence, we do not have a free standing shelter. They live on a farm where they run and play with other dogs, cats, horses, and barnyard fowl.
Initial contact with us must be made through e-mail.
E-mail ARFofMercer@gmail.com directly for an adoption application or with any questions. Once your adoption application is approved, you will be invited to meet our dogs/puppies.

More about this rescue
Our dogs and puppies are primarily Sato's, rescued from Puerto Rico in the Rincon area (visit www.barksofhope.com).They are flown to Philadelphia airport, immediately vetted, and treated for internal and external parasites. One to two weeks after arrival, once we know they are healthy and ready for homes, they are spayed/neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. The mother dogs in PR are spayed through a voucher program run by Barks of Hope and other local rescue groups.
Puerto Rico has a terrible problem with unwanted dogs, litters are discarded on the side of the road, in trash cans, and dumped in the woods. If brought to a shelter, the kill rate is 94%. We are always looking for tourists and business people willing to carry on pups to get them out of a bad situation and into loving, forever homes.
