Additional info:

Everest is a very friendly and laid-back dog. He likes people, and other dogs upon meeting. He isn’t super cuddly but will follow you from room to room and prefers not to be crated or barred in another room away from people. He will sit with you and doesn’t mind being picked up. He will eventually give kisses once he knows you. Everest is good on the leash and house-trained. He loves to go on a walk and explore the neighborhood, or sniff for scattered treats in the grass. Everest sleeps well through the night in his own bed and eats fine around other dogs. Mealtimes are very dramatic and it’s really the only time he makes any noise. He will shout encouraging words at you while you prepare his food. When Everest is frustrated or trying to get your attention, he will kick his back feet to make little noises on the floor.

He has not been cat or kid tested but we expect he will be fine with them too. Everest enjoys snoozing in the sunshine and can be convinced to take a short swim in the pool, but he likes to run around drying off the most! He is not particularly interested in toys. Everest LOVES to ride in the car but needs a passenger to hold him tight so he can feel the wind up his snoot.

Everest would make a wonderful companion for a homebody who just wants a little buddy to hang out with. He is quiet during zoom calls and looks cute in the background.

Everest has a heart condition that requires medication and periodic follow ups but no intense therapies at this time. He also has a partially collapsed trachea just above his lungs which can restrict airflow and cause coughing, but it is currently well managed and doesn’t not require regular medication. He takes his heart medications easily and does not growl or snap. Everest would not be appropriate as an intense exercise companion. He loves to go on regular walks but should not be overexerted with hikes, or hot weather.

Everest is good with everyone but seems to prefer men and will choose to spend most of his time with a man if given the choice.

He will require medication for the rest of his life and will require a yearly cardiology visit. His medication is approximately $150/month and cardiology visits (required yearly) are approximately $650.
