Hi my name is Prince Zuko and I have spent quite a bit of time in the kennel, but I went into foster care and I have made such remarkable progress! I also have gained a great deal more confidence in myself.

I am a great dog if I say so myself. I not only walk good on a leash but I love meeting people. Many times, when my foster mom takes me for a walk, I overhear people saying to her how cute I am. My favorite pastime is to either lay in the grass outside, take a nap inside or sit by her side. I am content, patient and well behaved. I am also housebroken and crate trained . I like to consider myself a champion in fetching a tennis ball. If you enjoy playing ball, I am the one for you. I love running after it and bringing back to be thrown again. Another one of my great accomplishments is the training I had. I know many commands. In addition to my looks, I think I am very smart, however, most of all I am so lovable and looking for my forever home with someone I can love. I need to be your one and only pet- the Prince of the castle. If you are looking for a cute short leg guy, come and see me. I really love children but I do prefer the older ones so over 10 sounds great.

Submit Application

Review our adoption process and complete our new online pet application. If you need assistance, call us or visit our Adoption Center!

2.
Approve Application

If you have had pets in the past 10 years, we will do a vet check and we will check with your landlord or HOA that you can have the pet.

3.
Meet the Pet

Once approved, everyone in your home will need to meet the pet. Also, any existing dog will need to meet a dog you want to adopt.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

We will ask you to sign an adoption contract and pay our adoption fee - a schedule of fees is on our website.

We have one Adoption Center at 1901 W. Ogden Ave., Downers Grove, IL. Please come in to complete our pet application or fill it out online and we will contact you to schedule an appointment to meet our awesome dogs and cats!

The West Suburban Humane Society (WSHS) is a volunteer-based, no-kill animal rescue that was founded in 1972 in the western suburbs of Chicago. WSHS now finds homes for more than 500 dogs and cats each year!

WSHS is 100% funded by individual, corporate, and private foundations donations, and has over 450 active volunteers! WSHS is caring for about 200 animals at any given time.
