My story

**Dog meet and greets are by appointment only, please answer the questions below the bio, either through Petfinder, Adopt-A-Pet or by directly e-mailing us at shelter@hbpets.org. Please be patient, we are over capacity and short staffed, we try to get back to everyone quickly, it may be 4-5 days.

Bessie is approx. 5yr old spayed female, Pitbull/Cattle dog mix mix mix. Bessie was with us a year ago, she was found with a gun shot wound, it took months of healing and the entire time she was just the sweetest. Bessie was adopted a year ago and lived with a loving family, but their lives changed and Bessie was not adjusting well to being alone. We gave Bessie sometime to adjust before putting her back up for adoption. Bessie does normal cattle dog things, herding, barking at strangers, she wants everyone to be in the same area, she also is protective of her food bowl. Bessie smiles when she is happy, she loves people, but her biggest love is other humans, she needs to be with her human all the time. Bessie needs someone who will work with her anxiety of being left alone, although she doesn't have this issue here because she is surrounded by other dogs, in a home environment she has a hard time. She would love to have a dog brother or sister, prefers a very chill laid back dog. She absolutely needs a yard, preferably fenced. No children under the age of 12yrs. Her ideal home would be someone who works from home or is retired, someone who will take her on their daily travels, although she loves her play dates with other dogs, she really wants all the attention for herself.

My adoption fee is $120: This includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines, microchip + 1 year membership paid for, dewormer, flea treatment and a 1 pound bag of food they are currently on.
