My story

Cisco is a handsome black and white kitty. He came to us from a vets office where he was for a month. He and his litter mates were supposed to go to the SPCA but after that didn't work out, we took these sweet babies in! He is a sweet and friendly kitty and he will make a wonderful companion to some lucky family! He would love to be adopted with one of his siblings or with another kitty near his age so they will always have a feline companion and playmate. Come visit these little darlings and see if he or they are the one(s) just waiting to go home with you!Approx. DOB: 08/12/2021Please be aware that we have a policy of not adopting out kittens until they are 4 months old, and then only to families with no children under the age of six years. We require that kittens be adopted in pairs until they are 5 months old, as they are very bonded to their siblings and can become quite depressed and stressed due to the separation. Kittens must be at least 9 months old before they are adopted into homes with children under the age of six years. Interested in adopting a Goathouse cat or kitten? Then please start by completing the following steps required in our screening process: 1) Complete our online adoption application: Visit www.goathouserefuge.org/adoption-application/ to get started! 2) Arrange to visit the cat(s) in person: Please check our website for current visiting hours at our Pittsboro refuge. If your application indicates an interest in a cat currently in foster or at Cat Tales Cat Cafe, we will inform you on steps to take to arrange a cafe or foster visit. 3) Complete a home visit: Once you confirm that you've visited in person with the cat(s) of interest and completed the online application, your responses will be reviewed by the refuge staff so that a volunteer member of our home visit team can contact you to schedule a visit. Only after a representative of the refuge has visited the applicant's home will the refuge consider continuing with the adoption process

More about this rescue

Siglinda Scarpa is a potter and a sculpter who owns 3 acres of fenced-in property in which she houses up to 258 homeless cats. The Refuge is a sanctuary for these cats, who never have to leave, but if they are adoptable, the cats are posted on our website and taken to adoption events in the community. The more cats that we find homes for, the more cats we can rescue.
