UPDATE 4/3/22: Wade really knows how to love. Even though, he had poor care in his past, he likes everyone. This is a dog that has faced extreme neglect. He came in (at 39 pounds) looking like a skeleton dressed in grungy patched fur. Since he has been with us, he has shown nothing but good manners and trust. He is clean in his room and is well behaved on a leash. Wade has a gentle personality and calm nature. He is more a good listener than a talker. Wade thinks our cats are interesting but a little scary. And there isn’t a dog at our facility that Wade doesn’t want to meet.
After being with us for a few weeks (having a bath, getting regular meals, enjoying his own room with a bed and toys), he has evolved into the good-looking boy he was meant to be. Now, you can admire his artistically marked tri-color coat, and his weight has improved dramatically. He is a hound that wants to be a house pet and buddy, not a hunter.
Wade will be available for adoption as soon as he has been fully vetted and neutered. Adoption application forms (for appointments to meet Wade) are available on our website.
If you enjoy the looks of a hound but enjoy an attitude more typical of a calm Labrador Retriever, Wade is the housemate for you.
