My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweetie is a 7 year old good natured dog that is visually and hearing impaired. She will bump into the area around her, but will get a solid grasp of her space after getting acclimated. She greets me at my gate when I arrive home from work. There is minimal barking from her, however, I have heard her bark at night when other dogs in the neighborhood were barking. Most of her sounds are very muted. She has a wiggle butt and gets excited with attention and affection. She likes sitting or laying next to me. She naps often. Incredibly low maintenance except for the medication she needs at this time for an ongoing stomach issue. She does not appear to be spayed but we plan to spay her. She’s been eating dry food with a chicken flavor powder on top that enhances the flavor. She does well on a leash and stays right by your side.

Sweetie would do best in a home where people have had experience with special needs dogs and are home often. She likes the company of people and wants to follow them and know she’s not alone. Her energy is low and simply wants to rest next to you. She gets along with other low to medium energy dogs. Because of her sight impairment, people need to be aware that she may bump into things and this will include dressers or furniture with items on them that could easily fall. If someone has a pool or body of water on their property it will need to be fenced or she should not be near them unattended. All safety measures should be considered when she is adopted. She is a very kind soul and would be a great match for a person or family that is seeking a low energy dog to love on for the rest of her days.
