My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Teddy
Domestic Shorthair
Male
4 years old
14 lbs.

Hello world! I’m Teddy! They call me Teddy for a reason. I’m snuggly and cuddly and loving just like a teddy bear.

I like to talk and play and sit close with my human friends. I like to roam around the house finding new places to explore and making sure I know everything going on in the homestead. When I’m ready for a nap, I will find a spot in the sun and snooze the day away. And then after I’m rested, I’m ready for all the love from my humans again! I also do really well with other cat friends! I’ve successfully lived with cats in the past and I’m doing great with the cat in my foster home (I don’t necessarily play with the other cat yet but enjoy his companionship overall.)

My foster parents think I’m just the best (and quite a goofball!) I’ll meow and let you know if there’s something I need and I have some hilarious play styles that keep them laughing! I like new people pretty instantly and enjoy making new friends. My foster parent describes me as a big cuddly boy who is young, happy and playful. And look how handsome I am in my photo!

One thing to mention is that I do have FIV, an immunodeficiency virus. I will very likely live a long and happy life (cats with FIV have very similar life spans as a typical cat!) but I might have a weaker immune system as I age. Therefore, I MUST be an indoor cat only to help keep me healthy and just need a family who can take me to the vet for annual check ups to make sure I continue to be healthy and happy! FIV is not transferable to humans or dogs and it only passes to another cat through a deep cat bite so as long as my cat friend is friendly, I can absolutely live with another cat friend. Our adoption team is happy to fill you in on more details or answer any questions you may have!

I also recently had an eyelid surgery to correct a genetic condition where my eyelids grow inward. I’m healing so well from my surgery and my eyes don’t need any additional medical support going forward!

I’m excited to meet my forever family and I really hope it will be you! To meet me or adopt me please email adopt@pawscoadoptions.org or learn more at https://pawsco.org/adopt/adoption-process.
