Meet Hawking!
Greetings friends and future family! My name is Hawking and I am an amazing 7 year old male. You might be wondering how I came to be named. Well, it’s very simple. I was named after Stephen Hawking, who like me, has physical challenges but who is exceptional on the inside. Let me tell you a little bit about myself: I am completely blind and almost completely deaf. Some people might take this as a death sentence; I take it as just a small obstacle in the way. Yes, I do need a little bit of help to get stuff done but it all works out at the end. When I need to go outside, my foster dad takes me in his arms and places me in the yard while on a leash. He is my eye seeing dad! He helps me maneuver around and not hit anything. He has the patience of a saint! Inside the house, I like hanging out on my bed or near it. I like feeling my humans close to me, that always brings me comfort. I am very calm, a little shy sometimes, but I love meeting humans. Head and jowl rubs are my favorite thing in the world! That is, along with treats and flavored chews! I am trying to learn “come” by receiving gentle forward strokes on my chin. One very special thing about me is that I thrive with love. I love all sorts of affection and by knowing I am loved and not considered a nuisance. I am looking for a family with patience, and who will give me love and affection. My foster dad says that I will steal someone's heart because I am so grateful for any kind of affection given to me. So while I may never catch frisbees or retrieve, I will shower you with my love and return every bit of your affection a hundred-fold.
