Vetting: Up to date on vetting, heartworm negative, neutered, and microchipped
House trained/Crate Trained: Yes/Yes
Dogs/Cats/Children: Yes/Unknown/Yes. Current foster home includes two teenagers and two three-year-old grandchildren that visit often. Miles loves them all, though supervision with young children is always recommended. When we take walks on a leash in our neighborhood, Miles wants to meet everyone. Sometimes he barks and pulls in excitement because he loves meeting someone new! Miles does well around other dogs at adoption events. A previous foster home had other large dogs and Miles did great with them as well. Sometimes his excitement overwhelms other dogs. With a calm experienced introduction to other dogs, Miles should be successful. Sometimes Miles just needs a few minutes to get settled and acclimated until the nervous energy burns off!
Energy Level: He loves to play and take walks, but most of the time he’s chilling in his bed next to his foster mom or brother.
Before FAR/My History: Miles was found as a stray and ended up at the Clayton County shelter on the urgent list, at which time Furever After Rescue saved him.
Training Status/Commands I know: He is a very good boy walking on a leash, but may pull when he sees other dogs.
Working on: Working on “sit” before starting to eat and waiting for leash to be clipped.
Things I like: Lots of pets, hanging out with his foster mom, walks, treats and chew toys like Stuffies and Kong.
Things I don’t like: Hugs, the vacuum
Things that make my humans happy: Miles is a very happy, calm, easy-going dog and is usually content to sit by his foster mom's side. He doesn't jump on the furniture. Miles lets his foster mom know when he needs out or if dinner is a minute late! Miles is a joy to his foster family.
Ideal Family/Home: Active family that will take Miles for walks and offer lots of interaction and attention.
Don’t let the white around the muzzle fool you, Miles is NOT a senior!

Our adoption process starts with the potential adopter filling out an adoption application. In the application, you can specify a particular dog in which you are interested, or let us know what type of pet in which you are looking, so we can find the perfect animal to fit your family and your needs. Once the application is received, a board member will review the application, and make contact with the potential adopter within 48 hours. This initial contact may include further questions/more information, or may include scheduling a meet and greet for you to meet the animal in which you are interested! Once the application is approved or the meet and greet goes well, then the adoption can be finalized. To finalize the adoption, an adoption agreement must be completed, the adoption fee paid (we accept cash, paypal, or credit/debit card), and then the potential adopter can take their new family member home with them or schedule pick up of their furry family member! The adoption fee varies based on the dog or puppy you are interested in. Some of the adoption fees have been listed on the individual dog's description but if you do not see one then please reach out and we would be happy to talk to you about it! If you are interested in any of our animals, please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have!!
