PLEASE scroll down and read the ENTIRE BIO. It is lengthy but has ALL INFO we know. Emailing and asking for more info is only going to hold up your process and risk your chances of the dog you want being gone. IVY is in SALEM, Ohio. SHE is fully vetted including spay/rabies/Bordetella/parvo distemper vaccine/worming/heartworm lyme test/heartworm-flea prevent while at the shelter. We do not ship dogs, we do not transport dogs, we do not hold dogs. You must be ready to adopt within 72 hours upon approval.
FULLY VETTED ADOPTION FEE is: $200
** PLEASE NOTE: Since we are a shelter, the majority of our dogs have not had the luxury of a foster home. As a result, what we post in reference to their behavior, temperament, likes/dislikes etc is only what we witness here and not in a home atmosphere.

Hi folks! My name is Ivy, I am approx 4-5 yrs old and weigh a respectable 64 lbs. I will begin by telling you that true to my breed, I will chase any small animal I see. I will chase them up a tree, down a road, in a yard and they will include squirrels, birds, rabbits, chickens, etc. Get the picture? Let's just say that I am an awesome and loving girl that loves people and other dogs, but I am by no means one that should be living on a farm with other smaller animals. So if you have another dog(s) then keep reading!! I am a strong young lady and the folks here at the shelter have found that I walk way better with an Easy Walk harness rather than just a leash attached to my collar. As you may suspect, I am quite adept at counter surfing if my houndy nose pics up a scent that is irresistible. The upside of that is that if you don't keep food off your counter, I will be happily assist in helping take care of it for you! Oh, and if you have kids, I am also schooled in following them around to clean up their food messes as well. Afterall, us hounds are also well known to be wonderful family pets and I will always be there to help out any way I can. I am having a ton of fun playing with all the other dogs here at the shelter so a home with (or without) dogs would be nice. If you live in an apartment or condo, let me save you some time, do not apply for me as I have that wonderful hound bay that folks either love or not. So even if you appreciate my verbal skills, your attached neighbor may not be of the same mindset (silly neighbors!). I will definitely "tree" a squirrel, bird or anything else that scurries up a tree but I am more of a homebody who is looking for loving and patient family to show me what it's like to have a special place in their home. I will require some basic training to get me on track but with patience and consistency I am certain that we can work thru that together. The girls here at the shelter say I have the kind of eyes that look into their soul and the way they say it makes it sound like a good thing.....so I got that going for me!!
