My story

Saffron is seeking a couch to watch Reality Shows all day and Cooking Shows at night.

This charmingSenorita is 8years old and has been a mama a few times. She found herself dumped in a rural area and taken to a pound. Friendly and maternal, she snuggled other dogs in her crowded run. Saffron was pulled by rescue and noted to be immediately warm towards people and seeking affection. Saffron hada few scars from sleeping on hard surfaces (pressure wounds at intake) but now naps on the couch snuggled to her foster mom or on a dog bed in a crate. She is crate trained and thrives on routine, due to her age, she gets overwhelmed and confused by chaos -She seeks out herstuffed 'babies' and soft things for comfort. She likesquiet places to nap and the fluffiest dog beds. We feel she has earned it.

Saffron appears to be a red Doberman with a docked tail and natural ears which perk up when she's excited. Dobermans live to 12-14 years old if well cared forso she is in her PRIME! *Saffron has been treated for heartworms, everyday - she gets stronger, more energetic. She whines when she needs to go outside to potty, house trained! She pulls on a leash and is not very graceful, a bit nervous in public. She will find people to lean on and happiest if one of her stuffed toys is with her. She is up to date on vaccines according to age, has received proper deworming, and comes with additional dewormer if needed. This pet is microchipped, spayed, comes with a 6 month Heartworm preventative, and one month free trial of pet insurance if registered by adopter with insurance company. All animals receive a health certificate (stating that a licensed veterinarian saw the pet and deemed it healthy for travel, but is not a promise of perfect health.) Our transports are USDA certified and the cost of transport is included in adoption fee! Heradoption fee is $300.00

Continued Care of Saffron: She prefers human food to kibble but eats 'senior' hard dog foodout of a slow feeder in her crate each morning without issue. Saffron's teeth have been worn down due to her prior enviroment. Our vets declined removing her teeth as they don't bother her and are not decayed, just ugly. Her ears have been ripped and scars on her face from other dogs attacking her. X-Rays show her heart is in good shape! She coughs sometimes which is evidence of compromised lungs due to medical neglect, but this does not keep her from patroling the yard, going on long walks or collecting all the toys around her in multiple trips off the couch.

Saffron lives in a foster home with several dogs of all sizes. She does well with other big females, alpha females and other mama dogs along with males. She growls when overwhelmed and needs space or meeting a new dog but is easily verbally reassured, correcting her behavior. She worries about missing breakfast, so she is fed in her crate and allowed to enjoy without the other dogs in her face.

Saffron has a gentle soul and deserves to spend the rest of her life -loved, adored and with as many stuffed animals as she can hoard.
