My story

Meet Wafer! Wafer came to us from a hoarding situation, and while she is very appreciative of those who have helped her, she can't help but wonder when she will find her forever home. While in our care, Wafer has come a long way, but she will need someone to help her with socialization because she is a timid dog. Wafer's personality comes out more and more every day, and we can't wait to see how much she blossoms. If you are interested in showing sweet Wafer what it's like to have a forever family who will love her endlessly we encourage you to fill out an adoption application to meet her.

At this time, Waffle is considered dog friendly. A meet and greet is required for any current dogs you may have.

Puppies may be adorable but will require a lot of training and patience to ensure they become the absolute best canine citizens. We ask all interested puppy adopters to take the time to consider the amount of commitment puppies take and if that fits into their current and future lifestyle! HSEC staff will be happy to get you started on the right puppy parent path!

More about this rescue

The Humane Society of Eastern Carolina's mission is to serve as a safe haven for homeless and neglected pets and act as a resource to the community. By educating the public about issues pertaining to animals, we feel that we can work towards the elimination of over breeding of dogs and cats and teach owners to be responsible pet owners. At the same time, we hope to facilitate adoption of pets to good homes so that we can allow more unwanted animals to find a temporary home with us.
