My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rusty is a handsome Yorkie fellow. Rusty is 10 years old and weighs 9 pounds. He is being fostered in Orlando, FL and must be adopted in the state of Florida.

Updated bio 5/18/2022: You could never tell that this happy little guy was recently found wandering the streets alone. He has fit in perfectly with his foster family. Rusty is a sweet, funny, low-maintenance pup that is content with a comfy bed and a tummy rub. He sleeps in his own bed at night and wakes up smiling and prancing.

Don't let his age fool you. He is an active fella that gets the Zoomies and likes to run through the house. He doesn't have much interest in toys but will run alongside his foster sister when she is retrieving hers. Cute!

He is a healthy guy, but the vet has diagnosed him with focal seizures that are treated with a few drops of CBD oil a day. The seizures are barely perceptible. Just a head shake. His foster mom has not noticed any since he's been on the oil.

Although he walks fine on a leash, he needs to go out on a regular basis to reinforce his potty training. He will follow his foster sister and go potty outside. There have not been any accidents in the house. Good boy! He wears a belly band at night but it's dry when he wakes up. A fully fenced backyard is required since he needs access to the outside often. Also, he loves to explore and lie in the sun.

Rusty has come a long way since being at his foster home. He has learned to trust his people and has become very affectionate. He loves to be petted and scratched and will sit on the couch to be close to his foster family.
